As the “Artist in Residence” at NECAT Network, I am proud to have worked with Trish Crist and Katie Veglio at Nashville Education, Community, and Arts Television, in partnership with the Tennessee Performing Arts Center to bring you “The Art of Special Effects Makeup!”

We have invited a few more people to my event, where YOU can ask four wildly creative professional special effects makeup artists from the Syfy channel TV show, Face Off, your questions about techniques, tools, tips, prosthetics and products throughout this three-hour interactive Q & A event in TPAC’s beautiful James K. Polk Theater. Our event is open to everyone: fans of movies, TV, makeup, art, performance, theater, Face Off, aspiring artists, actors, producers — and fun — and curious people of all ages.

I will be your host as my Face Off family of artists Chloe Sens, Tate Steinsiek and Rashaad Santiago create characters before our eyes and describe the process. Get an up-close look, learn about the products we use, take photos with the artists and the models, and participate in the interactive discussion and Q & A during this three-hour workshop.

This year’s three artists simultaneously demonstrating detailed character makeups on stage are:

Chloe Sens from Face Off Season 6
Tate Steinsiek from Face Off Seasons 1 and 5
Rashaad Santiago, the Face Off Season 6 winner

In addition, we have the man behind IMATS and Make-up Artist Magazine, Michael Key, joining us on stage.

A variety of ticket prices are available for purchase now. This is our second year bringing Nashville this makeup event… Join us!

“The Art of Special Effects Makeup” is presented by NECAT (Nashville Education, Community, and Arts Television) and TPAC InsideOut. NECAT teaches the public how to make television shows, welcomes them as members to use the studio and equipment, and broadcasts the shows they create on one of their three channels: arts, education or public access.
