Well, it’s official. This will forever be referred by me as “The Sex Episode,” or “The Glenn Episode.” And that is a good thing.

This episode was great. The Rest of the Gang reunites at Herschel’s farm. A Zed is found in one of the five wells and must be extracted… with mixed results. Rick is losing his faith. Losing his religion. And Glenn and Maggie have sex in the pharmacy. That must’ve been awkward. I’m not good at multitasking… and looking over your shoulder, trying to dodge reanimated corpses doesn’t seem to get me in the mood. But it made for great TV!

And the well-worn phrase is especially pertinent on the show, “Children should be seen, and not heard.” With only two child actors on the show, The Walking Dead hasn’t had to rely on them to be terrific actors, but Season Two so far has revolved around both of them, even if they’re not being featured. They’re lil McGuffins. They keep the storylines moving. One has gone missing and the other was accidentally shot and is currently recovering from an operation. Let’s keep their speaking lines to a minimum, please. Mission Accomplished.

In summary, Glenn is first used as Zombie bait, lowered down a well, then gets rewarded with a love scene with Maggie. And the heart-break afterward. Yay for Glenn-centric episodes! There aren’t enough of them! Oh, and Shane has finally, and totally, fallen 100% into the darkness. And he may or may not have fathered Lori’s unborn child. The drama continues, on The Zed of Our Lives.

In a good way, The Walking Dead is like Lost in that each individual character knows bits of the storyline, but no one’s exactly willing to share their information, putting it all together. As a result, this keeps the storyline moving and keeps the audience enthralled. Bravo.

Episode Strength:
Lots of Glenn. Finally!
Episode Weakness:
Too much Lori. She drains my interest in the show. Hope she gets bitten soon.
WTF Moment:
How much fluid is actually inside a zombie? Seemed like a waterfall when the Well Walker ripped apart.

Noteworthy Quotes:
– “Looks like we got us a swimmer.”
– “Good thing we didn’t do anything stupid… like shoot it.”
– “He died as he lived… in grace.”
