Come rain or come shine, not even inclement weather could stop a Zombie herd!
Saturday was officially World Zombie Day and the undead were definitely representing the Music City.
Hundreds of walkers, biters, lurkers and roamers shambled through downtown on a cool and rainy day.
Participants were asked to donate canned food items, which were collected by The Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. Congrats to this year’s herd, for raising nearly half a ton of food!
Walking along the route, I overheard multiple sightseers mention this year’s event was the best one, yet. Looking ahead, that’s good news, for both the organizers as well as the participants. Each year, the Zombie Walk keeps getting bigger and better.
There were some great costumes on display including superheroes, stilt walkers, a medical crew, characters from The Walking Dead, a gorilla and banana father-and-son team… even an undead Bach! For more pictures, please visit our Facebook page.
The annual event is coordinated by Arts Cubed, which also runs the Middle Tennessee Anime Convention, as well as the Geek Media Expo, which will be taking place later this month, on October 24 to 26.
