Just in time for Dragon Con, the historic Fox Theater in downtown Atlanta will be hosting two very special events this week.
Taking place on Thursday, August 29 at 7:30 pm is a special screening of the horror-comedy hit, Zombieland, which was filmed locally throughout Georgia. Arrive at the movie screening early in your best Zombie costume (or any other character from a movie filmed in Georgia) to compete for $1,000 in prizes and passes to attend Dragon Con.
The costume contest begins the pre-show festivities, starting at 6:30 PM. The Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment office, a division of the Department of Economic Development, will continue its year-long 40th anniversary celebration with the special movie screening.
And the following day, Friday, August 30 at 8 PM is yet another great highlight taking place during Dragon Con week, which I cannot be any more excited to attend! Mythbusters: Behind the Myths Tour will absolutely rock the Fox Theatre! Co-hosts Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage will be making only one live performance during Dragon Con as the pair match wits on stage with each other and members of the audience.
Expect some on-stage experiments, audience participation, rocking video and behind-the-scenes stories. With this show, for the first time, fans join Jamie and Adam on stage and assist in their mind-blowing and mind-twisting approach to science.
While they’re not busy appearing at the Fox Theatre or during panels of Dragon Con, the duo has starred on Mythbusters for ten years, featured on the Discovery Channel.
