It’s here. It’s finally here. The spooky season is finally among us and the Travel Channel celebrates this time of year with its third annual Ghostober programming to get everybody into the proper mood!

Beginning on October 1st, the network has fully embraced the unknown, as tales of poltergeists, ghostly creatures and demons will be conjured throughout the month, leading up to “7 Nights of Frights.”

Ghost Adventures explores the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park (AKA the “Joe Exotic Zoo”), Ghost Nation gets the Ghost Hunters gang back together (in addition to other new episodes), The Osbournes experience their first-ever paranormal investigation as a family, three new Shock Docs premiere, along with more holiday-themed terror. All new seasons of The Holzer Files and Destination Fear will premiere, Paranormal Caught on Camera features more eerie documented experiences, Portals to Hell receives a one-hour preview to its next season, followed up with more Screaming Room recaps by the Ghost Adventures Crew. That’s a whole lot of spooky offered for your October consumption, while you snack on your treats (unfortunately, no tricks this year).

“Halloween is Travel Channel’s Super Bowl, and with more people at home than ever before, we plan to deliver an over-the-top slate of original programming,” said Travel Channel General Manager Matthew Butler. “We are the only network super-serving this mega popular genre to its superfans, featuring the superstars of the paranormal field and beyond.”

I’m not gonna lie, Joe Exotic was everywhere this summer. So, I will definitely tune in to see what may take place in the Ghost Adventures special. The Ghost Adventures Crew has already experienced a quarantine and this one feels unique. After really enjoying Devil’s Road: The True Story of Ed and Lorraine Warren, I can’t wait to watch more Shock Docs, which will include The Amityville Horror House, The Exorcism of Roland Doe and This is Halloween (recounting past holiday stories by the network’s paranormal experts). The Holzer Files really is a great show, I just always seem to miss whenever its episodes air. I will do my best to follow the team’s investigations of the world’s very first ghost hunter, Dr. Hans Holzer. And every Sunday, I will always tune into Paranormal Caught on Camera while doing housework or simply relaxing on the weekend. These really are great shows!

And then there will the many repeats of past shows airing throughout the month on the channel, as well as its streaming service, including:

Ghostober looks like an important month for the Travel Channel. While millions of people will be missing out on attending haunted houses and other live events, ramping up its terror-themed offerings seems to be a very smart decision for the network. The pandemic can be fun, while watching these shows and specials. Happy October… er, Ghostober, everyone!
